but when I run the Connect app on an older machine not designed for Miracast and try to cast to it I get the 'cannot connect' message on the sending PC. I can cast to one of my other PCs that's running Connect. I can however run the Connect app on another PC to make it available for casting to with Miracast. Screen mirroring or casting from Edge is unavailable as they require the receiving device to have Miracast.

I found some things on this site about Mira Cast. There is nothing with the characters “connected” in that display. Problem: I have visited multiple site with a search that includes “windows 10” and keep getting instructions to click things that do not exist or that just do not work. Goal: Connect my laptop to the TV so I can display stuff on the TV. Windows 10, just updated, HP Pavilion Laptop, Intel I5 CPU.
